Our client previously obtained planning permission for the construction of 9 commercial units on Winchester Hill in Romsey. The permission included a condition limiting the use classes that could operate from the new units. On completion of the units, and following a period of marketing, it had become apparent that the planning condition permitted too narrow a range of uses and was preventing some of the units from being occupied. Our client approached Spruce Town Planning seeking advice and assistance with obtaining permission to change the condition and widen the mix of uses permitted. An application was submitted to vary the planning condition to include a wider selection of permitted use classes for the remaining vacant units, but uses that would still be appropriate given the location of the site. The suggested use classes were accepted by the local planning authority and planning permission was granted.
