Hamworthy, Poole – Householder Appeal Allowed

Spruce Town Planning are pleased to have assisted our client to secure planning permission at appeal for the alteration and extension of an existing chalet bungalow. The Local Authority had refused planning permission due to the perceived impact on the character and appearance of the street scene. The Applicant instructed Spruce Town Planning to assist with the appeal and a review of the area identified several other dwellings that had already been altered or redeveloped. As part of the appeal we explained that the character of the area is clearly evolving and the proposed development is sensitively designed to respect the existing building and pattern of development. In allowing the appeal the Inspector agreed that the proposed scale, design and choice of materials for the proposed development would not have a harmful effect on the character and appearance of the surrounding area or the host property.
