We are pleased to have assisted our clients to secure planning permission for the subdivision of a vacant supermarket in Southampton to create eight separate units including six class E use class units, a leisure space and a self-storage facility.
The site is part of a larger redevelopment of housing and commercial uses built since 2013. Whilst most of the housing and other commercial uses have since been built and occupied the supermarket unit was never occupied as first intended and the unit had sat vacant since new. The approved proposals for the subdivision of the unit offers the opportunity to now bring the space into an active use, and its occupation will benefit the local community by contributing to the vitality of the public space.
